Each of these different types of spatial cues contribute a different amount of information that you build your mental space representation on. Your brain uses several different cues to build its mental representation of where things are in 3 dimensional space. Either your head or the screen must be moving around for you to sense a partial illusion of 3 dimensional space. This illusion will NOT appear to be 3 dimensional if your head isn't moving and the screen isn't moving. Just so people are clear about what's going on here, there is only a single on-screen image at all times, and both of your eyes are seeing the exact same image at once. ![]() You sound like you've been a lurker for some time that's just registered. Out of the above features, only #6 has a reasonable chance of materializing in my humble opinion. Also, if at all possible, in addition to speech, there should be a universal option for the computer to sing all text output and input to me. I should be able to touch, pinch, swipe, feel up, and lick, the interface. How about breaking apart all those features and either integrating 'em into the OS, or into a collection of programs which aren't this giant, slow, bloated mess, using a codebase from 900 years ago.Ħ- When I smack the side of my Mac Pro, I'd like for it to get up and dance and spin the screen around in a pretty swirl of colors and patterns. sucks hard, and is totally wedged into the middle of all the iCrap which makes it very difficult to just ignore and kick to the curb.ĥ.5- iTunes? It's really not. It'd be awesome to use a 12-core Mac Pro for something other than Maya, compiling, and video games, and have it feel like a 12-core instead of an iMac.ĥ- iTunes? Please scrape it out of the tarpit, and port it to Cocoa, instead of being this weird C++ app, which uses almost no native frameworks, crawls in slow-motion, never sees more than 1 core (that I'm aware of, perhaps it does something magical when ripping those old-school CD's I've heard legends about), and in general. ![]() ![]() Meh).Ĥ- GCD and OpenCL? They should actually, ya know, get utilized once in a while. This won't happen either, maybe by 10.9 or so.ģ- Mail should swallow a reasonable subset of the InDev MailTags and Mail ActOn features, and provide a reasonable plug-in API, so that all the things it can't do, could be made possible by 3rd parties without crawling through the minefield (GPGMail, and, oh yeah, the InDev stuff, which lately seems to have stood still in this neverending attempt to just bring back some stability. Has been Coming Real Soon, it's ALMOST READY, for like 150 years now. This won't happen of course.Ģ- Resolution independence. 1- Since ZFS won't be arriving, a filesystem which isn't comprised of duct-tape and superglue.
